It was produced for 17 years, from 1974 to 1991, and sold over a million units! The CX is available in two versions: sedan and estate. Both versions are used by the French Gendarmerie. The station wagon, named Evasion, is the result of a collaboration between Heuliez and Citroën. Although a few Gendarmerie headquarters are equipped with a station wagon version, it is the least common among the maréchaussée. Nevertheless, this CX Break “Gendarmerie” has become a symbol of a whole generation.
