-- In 1983, the Samba was produced in a special series of 200 cars to validate Group B homologation. Jean Todt, director of Peugeot Talbot Sport, wanted to provide the Samba for private drivers and reserve the 205 T16 for factory drivers. This is how the little Samba joined the list of cars that have entered the monstrous Group B in rallying. It doesn't have the impressive career of its cousin the lioness, but it has made a name for itself on asphalt. Such was the case at the 1985 Tour de Corse, where Jean-Paul Bouquet finished 7th. This was the Lorraine driver's best result in the world championship, as well as for Talbot.
